Hamilton Airport

30 Aug 2008

Olex New Zealand was the major cable provider for the Hamilton Airport upgrade.

Hamilton Airport has recently undergone a $NZ15.5M redevelopment, which included expanding aeronautical services, building a new terminal and extending car parking facilities.

A recent joint venture partnership between Hamilton International Airport and McConnell Property will also allow the future development of a major commercial and industrial park, known as Titanium Park, on 80 hectares of the airport's land.

The runway length has increased from 1960m to 2195m. There are plans to extend the runway out to 2500m and 2720m creating opportunities for flights to Asia.

Hamilton’s International Airport currently offers a wide range of domestic travel as well as flights to Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Fiji and is the fourth busiest airport in New Zealand.

Olex supplied 21 km of single 400mm² aluminium 33 kV cable to our ESI customer WEL Networks.
